EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
SHOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AFRICA (SCCA) is a Non-Governmental, non-political, non-ethnical, non-racial Organization that encourages all to “SHOUT NOW OR NEVER” on climate change issues that may affect us all.
Over the years, the effect of climate change has greatly affected the coastal communities of Freetown especially the Goderich to Lakka areas. Sustainable Development Goal 13 requires “Climate Action” since inaction will have a direct consequence on non-development of communities that are affected thereby encouraging the circle of poverty.
To undertake “Climate Action” according to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 requires solving those problems that are posed by climate change.
Thus the coastal erosion in the above areas could not be dissociated from sea level rise.
In Sierra Leone especially Freetown coastal areas around the Goderich to Lakka, there is massive coastal erosion that is destroying valuable property like the St Michael Lodge and other important structures and the eventual loss of the beautiful beaches along those places. The direct effect is the loss of the country’s tourism income generation that these beaches would have provided.

This project hopes to assist in stopping further “eating into the land by the sea” and totally reclaim the land and beaches lost in the above process; that will create a bigger problem if not checked by now. Detailed of the full project document has been developed and will be made available to you if you are interested to partner with SCCA.
